Holiday Movie Guide Part 2

“Will you follow me, one last time?”
-Thorin Oakenshield, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies

We would follow Thorin Oakenshield anywhere! Everyone will have their chance to in December when the thrilling Hobbit trilogy meets its end. Last week Aksarben Cinema got you excited about all the wonderful new films coming in November and early December, but it only gets better in the last weeks of December with the final Hobbit film release, Annie, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, and The Interview.

Leap into adventure, comedy, action, and musical joy this Holiday Season at Aksarben Cinema!

The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies

The three part Hobbit trilogy comes to a close with an epic battle that is said to rival the thrilling action in the Battle of Helm’s Deep. Bilbo, Thorin, and all the dwarves seek retribution for the fiery tyranny Smaug the Dragon brought.

Let it be known that their quest will not easily be completed. The only way that our fearless heroes will succeed is if two opposing groups (the dwarves and the elves) bury the hatchet. Witness the sheer power Peter Jackson will bring to the screen on December 17th.

Annie

It’s a hard knock life for Annie, an adorable foster kid who’s ready for a permanent life in New York. Sadly, she’s far from a life of luxury while under the thumb of her foster mom Miss Hannigan, a woman who’s in the foster kid game for the money. Luckily for Annie, just around the corner is the father she never knew she wanted, Will Stacks.

Stacks is a New York mayoral candidate and tycoon who’s also all about the money. Will this little orphan Annie turn his eyes toward a less materialistic outcome? Join Aksarben Cinema for the beautiful reimagining of the musical classic on December 19th and find out!

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb

Ben Stiller and director Shawn Levy are back for one final journey to the museum. In the film, deadpan security guard Larry Daley is tasked with travelling the globe in search of all his new and old favorite, living exhibits. If he doesn’t enlist the help of this rag-tag bunch of historical heavyweights then the signature magic that breathed life into the franchise will be gone forever.

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb is one that surely can’t be missed because it brings together some of the best comedy talent. How can you go wrong with Owen Wilson, Rebel Wilson (no relation), Dick Van Dyke, Steve Coogan, and the recently passed Robin Williams? The secret is out and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb is your ticket to fun at Aksarben Cinema!

The Interview

One of the most controversial films this year is The Interview. James Franco and Seth Rogen star as a popular TV show host and TV producer, respectively. The duo is approached by the CIA to kill North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un. What results is a blast of action-comedy that only Franco, Rogen, and their partner in crime writer/director Evan Goldberg could provide.

This trio made the apocalypse funny with This is the End. Come and see if they can make modern espionage a hit with The Interview when it comes to Aksarben Cinema on December 25th!

These films are only the tip of the iceberg of cinematic offerings at Aksarben Cinema. We’ll have so much more for the more dramatic taste in film including the films Wild starring Reese Witherspoon, Angelina Jolie’s latest directorial effort Unbroken, and Disney’s release of the brilliant Broadway musical adaptation of Into the Woods.

When we say we have something for everyone we’re not just blowing smoke like Smaug. Now go enjoy a show!
